Trusted Coverage for Life’s Most Important Moments
Independent Insurance Broker •Serving Pennsylvania & North Carolina
My Story, What Lead Me Here
Hello, my name is Megan James, and I am an Independent Insurance Broker with nearly 20 years of experience helping individuals and families understand their options. As the owner of MCJ Insurance, I take pride in offering guidance that is clear, straightforward, and tailored to your needs.
I started this agency with one simple goal: to empower people with the knowledge to make confident decisions about their coverage. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that listening is just as important as explaining. Every client’s story is unique, and I make it my priority to truly hear what matters most to you before recommending any plan.
Not only an insurance broker, I am also a certified personal trainer, which has given me the privilege of helping people take care of both their health and their financial protection. Living and working in Erie, PA, I understand the importance of community, trust, and personal connection. When you work with me, you can feel confident that I will treat your coverage as carefully as I treat my own family’s.
Medicare
I’ll help you understand your Medicare options, including Supplements, Advantage Plans, and Part D. I also assist clients with dual coverage (Medicare/Medical Assistance), helping you access extra programs and benefits.
Under-65 health Insurance (Pennie Marketplace)
If you’re not yet eligible for Medicare, I can assist with ACA Marketplace and individual health plans through Pennie — Pennsylvania’s official Affordable Care Act marketplace. I’ll walk you through the process step by step and help you understand your options for coverage and financial assistance.
Hospital Indemnity
A supplemental plan that helps cover the out-of-pocket costs Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplements don’t fully pay for. These plans provide cash benefits to help with hospital stays, emergency visits, or recovery time — giving you extra financial protection and peace of mind.
Cancer coverage
Extra protection that provides cash benefits if you’re diagnosed with cancer. This coverage helps with expenses that Medicare or health insurance may not fully cover — such as treatments, travel, or daily living costs — giving you and your family added financial peace of mind during a difficult time.
Dental, Vision, Hearing & OTC Benefits
Original Medicare does not cover routine dental, vision, or hearing services. Many people, however, need help with the cost of cleanings, glasses, eye exams, hearing tests, or hearing aids. I can show you plans that include these benefits, either through Medicare Advantage or stand-alone coverage, depending on your needs.
Some plans also include OTC (Over-the-Counter) allowances to help pay for common health items like pain relievers, vitamins, first aid supplies, or cold medicine. These extra benefits can save you money and make it easier to maintain your overall health.
Life Insurance & Final Expense
Protect your loved ones with coverage designed to provide peace of mind. I’ll explain your options clearly, including term life, whole life, and final expense plans that help with end-of-life costs. Together, we’ll find a plan that fits your needs and your budget.
Educational Seminars
Do you know of a group that would like to better understand their insurance? Please reach out — I’d be happy to set up a free, no-obligation educational seminar in a group setting. Whether it’s about Medicare, the under-65 Pennie program, hospital indemnity, cancer coverage, life insurance, and even dental/vision/hearing I’ll walk everyone through it in a simple, easy-to-follow way. I also hold sessions at senior centers, and I’ll keep the Educational Seminar page updated whenever I have public seminars scheduled.
Educational Seminars
I host educational seminars to help make Medicare and insurance easier to understand, and I’d love for you to be part of one.

Organize Your Own Group Seminar: You’re also welcome to set up a seminar for your own group.
